Love—it’s a fairly interesting four-letter word. OK, maybe it’s not the one I constantly yell as I’m battling Miami’s sea of endless bad drivers, but it’s still a good one. In fact, last Saturday it turned into the theme of the day. My dear friend Annie Vazquez, The Fashion Poet, invited me to a lovely brunch with ShoeDazzle. It happened to be at Love is Blind. I just happen to LOVE that place. The two times I had been there before I danced the night away with a smile perma-glued to my face. And this particular day I got to celebrate another thing I love: shoes. Because real talk: it’s easier to love shoes than it is to love some people.
After social hour and shoe talk with the girls (if you aren’t already a member of ShoeDazzle, consider signing up here), I realized I had my camera in the car and I just happened to remember this beautiful wall in Wynwood that says Love Happens. So, I made it my backdrop, only happens didn’t fit, so I was just left with love. And that’s not such a bad thing. Even for the love-jaded, such as myself.
It’s a wall that makes you think. Love does happen. It happens when you least expect it. It happens for some. It doesn’t happen for others. It happens to make you happy and happens to make you crazy. Sometimes it’s at the bottom of the four-letter word pile. And other times it rises to the top, bringing you with it. But it happens. And you can roll with its punches or throw punches at it. But you can’t deny it’s out there, just waiting to happen.
